At Ink & Clues, we create mystery games for people who love intriguing clues, unexpected twists, and that satisfying moment when all the pieces finally fall into place.
Behind the games are two Alexanders from southern Sweden. One creates the mysteries, while the other makes sure the technology behind everything actually works.
We're a small team with big ambitions, far too many ideas, and a shared belief that a great mystery game can turn an ordinary evening at home into something you'll still be talking about long after the case is closed.
Our Story - From a Train Journey to A Mystery Game Company
In December 2023, Alexander W. was sitting on a train with his wife, playing a cold case mystery game. While trying to solve the case, another thought started taking shape: “I wonder if I could create a game like this myself.”
That thought soon led to another: what if the entire investigation could be delivered digitally? Players could get instant access to the case, print the evidence at home, or simply investigate everything on their screen.
At first, it was just a passing idea. But for some reason, Alexander couldn't get it out of his head.
Not long after, he was writing his first murder mystery, creating suspects, constructing clues, and building an entire fictional criminal investigation. What started as a small side project quickly grew into something much bigger.
In April 2024, Alexander L. entered the picture. With his technical background and love of problem-solving, he became a natural partner in bringing Ink & Clues to life.
And that's how two Alexanders ended up running a company dedicated to fictional murders. There are probably more conventional ways to start a business.
About Alexander W.
Alexander W. is the creative mind behind Ink & Clues' murder mystery games. He's the one building the investigations, writing the stories, creating the characters, and making sure every little clue has its place in the mystery.
He holds a master's degree in engineering with a specialization in biomedical engineering, which might explain why he considers it perfectly reasonable to spend an unreasonable amount of time making sure the details of a fictional criminal investigation actually make sense.
Outside of game development, Alexander has a strong interest in art and design, particularly oil painting. You can explore his artwork at oilpaintingsofalex.com.
Three Things You Probably Don't Need to Know About Alexander W.
- His sense of direction is highly questionable. When driving, he relies entirely on GPS and his wife, who has a far superior sense of direction (although she struggles with left and right, so she has to point).
- He firmly believes that exercise is essential for physical and mental well-being. Despite his dedication, he somehow managed to throw out his back in May 2025 by sneezing while sitting at a slightly awkward angle.
- Alexander W. loves ice cream and sunsets, preferably at the same time.
About Alexander L.
Alexander L. has been passionate about technology from a young age and started coding as a hobby when he was just 13.
In April 2024, he connected with Alexander W., marking the beginning of the collaboration that would eventually become Ink & Clues.
As CEO of Eagerpatch, Alexander L. plays a central role in developing and maintaining the technical foundation of Ink & Clues. He's not particularly fond of half-measures and would rather sacrifice a few hours of sleep than leave a technical problem unsolved.
Three Things You Probably Don't Need to Know About Alexander L.
- Poor grammar gives Alexander a headache. Words that should be written together but aren't are his particular linguistic nightmare.
- He owns more than one 3D printer and would probably own several more if space allowed. The only things standing in his way are limited room and a wife who isn't quite as enthusiastic about adding more 3D printers to their home.
- Alexander L. likes cats a lot more than dogs.
From a Small Side Project to Over 80,000 Games Sold
What started as an idea on a train has grown into something we never could have imagined when we first began.
Today, our murder mystery games have sold over 80,000 copies, with players around the world examining evidence, questioning alibis, and trying to uncover the truth behind our fictional crimes.
Our game collection was also named #1 Best Print & Play 2025 by UKBG Review Circle, an independent board game review community. It's a recognition that means a great deal to us, especially considering how much time and care goes into creating every case.
We read our players' feedback and use it to continuously develop and improve our murder mysteries. For us, it's not just about creating more cases. It's about making every new investigation an experience worth remembering.

Our games are fictional criminal investigations where you step into the role of detective.
